Cylix transformed the BI Designer into a standalone, AI-enabled platform — architecting ERP separation, integrating natural language query capabilities, and building a self-service dashboard builder empowering business users to generate reports without developer assistance.

Problem Statement
The BI Designer is tightly coupled with the ERP system, making it difficult to sell or deploy as a standalone solution. Report creation is limited to developers with SQL expertise, resulting in a two- to four-week backlog for business-critical requests. Over 2,000 business users are dependent on a 15-person technical team for any reporting changes, creating significant bottlenecks. Each new customer requires dedicated developer time for report customization, further limiting scalability. Additionally, there is no self-service capability, preventing users from exploring data, adjusting parameters, or creating ad hoc analyses independently.
